Have you ever wanted to give making home made lip
stick a go? It is definitely quick, easy and inexpensive to make. Not only
that, you will be totally in control of all the ingredients you use.
Grab 1 teaspoon of candellila wax and pour it over in a microwave safe bowl. Pop it in the microwave for about 10 minutes, or until the wax has totally melted. Stir in ¼ teaspoon of castor oil, a drop of rape seed oil, a drop of vitamin E and another drop of essential oil like lavender and tea tree.
Combine the mixture smoothly until it becomes thick enough to coat a spoon. If it is too thin, just add more candellila wax to make it thicker, but if it is vice versa, add castor oil instead to make it thinner.
Next thing to do is to stir in fruit juice like cherry or pomegranate. Just pour the mixture in an old lip stick or lip gloss container and let it harden for 3 hours. Once the time is up, test the degree of firmness of the lip stick.
Just as mentioned, if it is still too soft, just remove the mix from the container and once again add more wax.
